Tuesday - 08/07 -NEW RECORDINGS!!
The band has been working really hard on new music and we have some new recordings to show for it. Some are re-recordings of songs you are already familiar with and a couple are brand new, never been heard before. One of them has never even been played at a show before, but is sure to be being played very soon!
Tuesday - 07/24 -We're a SIX piece now!
It is with great pleasure we announce Mr. Jake Clayton is officially a member of the Powder Keg family. Jake brings 25 instruments to the table and plays them all incredibly! He is also an unbelievable harmony vocalist. Jake still has other musical responsibilities that may take him away from us from time to time... (Like playing fiddle for Nashville recording artist Jimmy Wayne.) But, you will see Jake at the vast majority of our shows in the future.

With the recent additions of Jeremy and Jake new promo photos and recordings are on the way including reworked versions of some of the songs many of you already know.

Be sure to join us at a show real soon and "HAVE A BLAST!"
Friday - 06/22 -Nashville... The Songwriter's Festival and more!!
We've been so busy since getting back from Nashville. For those of you who didn't know we were down there for the Songwriter's Festival. It was an absolutely incredible experience. All said and done we performed about a dozen or so times performing our original material. The response was overwhelming.

We would like to say a very special thank you to Popcorn and all of the other volunteers for putting on such a wonderful event, it was by far one of the best experiences we've had the chance to be involved in and we will highly recommend other writer's we know to attend.

Also the speakers are the writer's retreat prior to the fest were absolutely inspirational some of our favorites included Karen E. Reynolds, CJ Watson and Barbara Cloyd.

Rickie Lee also had an opportunity while in Nashville to perform on stage with an old friend Ryan Hanlin joining him on stage at Legends Corner on historic Lower Broadway.

We got a few pictures from the event and hope to get them posted soon.

Wednesday - 05/09 -Bass Player Auditions
We're holding auditions for a bass player. Must have professional quality gear and attitude, and must be a motivated player.

Playing and recording original material while in the midst of a full schedule is a lot of hard work. Interested candidates must also be willing to travel as we do get out of town bookings. We accept bookings on weekdays as well as weekends, and practice or record 1-2 times per week. So it is feasible to have band duties on 4-5 days within one week.

Potential candidates must be driven to be a pro, and willing to step beyond the comforts of weekend warrior status. I think it goes without saying but, people with drug or alcohol dependencies need not apply. A few beers during a show is acceptable, falling down drunk is not.

We strive to be a tight knit family and want to make sure anyone we wish to welcome into this family be as goal oriented and determined as we are.

If interested please contact us at powderkegauditions@yahoo.com to ask questions or to be given an audition slot.

Wednesday - 02/21 -Back from Nashville
Well, the guys are back in town now from their trip to Nashville. The Nashville OnStage show went really well, Ernie and Debbie who run the show were absolutely wonderful. Chris Krause, Kevin Whitlock, and Big Rain were all wonderful performers and really great people to meet.

While in town the guys took part in numerous Open Mic nights and Writer's showcases, and were well received.

Everyone we met while in Nashville was absolutely great. We would really like to thank Eric Measel, R.G. Wells, T-bird, Bob, Charlie, Ricky (who had come to Nashville all the way from Ireland!), Cowboy Slim, and Margaret that we met at the Hall of Fame Lounge. The appearances there were certainly among the most memorable.

Also the jam night at the Crescent Oyster Bar where we met Adam, Jeremy, and Al who hosted the show. Al is one of the finest blues guitarists out there. Also Darren who sat in on drums and hung in there really well playing Powder Keg's original material, despite having never heard the songs before.

The guys are all looking forward to their next trip to Nashville and plan to make them as frequently as possible.
Wednesday - 02/14 -"Orange County Line" and "If It Weren't For Bad Luck"
Two more of our original songs are available for you to listen to and for a limited time download for FREE! Free download offer expires February 21st.

The two songs are:

"Orange County Line" - Written by: Dale Williams
This song is an Ode to the biker way of life and the chopper building genius Jesse James.

"If It Weren't For Bad Luck" - Written by: Tanner/Tanner
Also affectionately known as "(The Black Cat Song)" was written by Rickie Lee and his wife Tonya while they were on a long road trip together when one of them mused "If it weren't for bad luck...", two hours later a song was born.

Thursday - 12/21 -Our Brave Men and Women and the USO

We had a great time putting on a show for the folks that protect our rights and freedoms all over the world. If it weren't for these brave men and women doing what they do, great freedoms such as getting up on a stage and playing music might not exist. In this holiday season keep those that are laying their lives on the line in your hearts and in your prayers.

To all those who have served or are serving your country, thank you and God bless you.
